Recap 2021 Here are the best 🚀 and worst 🚽 decisions I made. Including experiments, investments, books, purchases, habits and advice. My 🚀 best and 🚽 worst list for 2021 ⬇️
-
🚀 Best Investment It's Microsoft, up 69% YTD Beating my ETH (because I bought to late) and all other stocks
-
🚽 Worst Investment CD Project Red, I sold with 57% loss Cyberpunk 2077 launch didn't go too well ...
-
🚀 Best Book How to get rich (by Felix Dennis) Heard about it on the @myfirstmilpod. It has a corny title, ignore it! I love how Felix tells the good & ugly realities to your face! (Best fiction: "Project Hail Mary", I love hard sci-fi)
-
🚽 Worst Book The Ride of a Lifetime (by Robert Iger) By the CEO of Disney. I did finish it, but didn't enjoy it. Seems written as a starting point for a political career. Bland, devoid of strong controversial opinions I enjoy from other biographies.
-
🚀 Best Experiment Starting a SaaS side project. Stagetimer taught me so much! I started it to learn about SaaS ins and outs. Now it also generates ~1k EUR/month for us.
-
🚽 Worst Experiment Becoming part of a badminton club. I love the sport. But I'm a big introvert. Took me weeks to have the guts to join them in training. Following week Corona wave closed the sports center. Just couldn't bring myself to do the "I'm the new guy" thing again.
-
🚀 Best Purchase A hight adjustable desk. It was 350 EUR. I love it! Helps me so much with my back. I'm switching to standing at least once a day. Shoutout to @FlexiSpot
-
🚽 Worst Purchase Buying an office chair online Wasn't a great chair. Sent it back. But disassembly was super difficult! After trying for hours to separate the pressfit parts I gave up. Carried it to a bicycle repair shop. It took them another 30 min hammering. Traumatized me.
-
🚀 Best Job Decision Changing my job! Now I have: * 4-day work week * Higher salary * More interesting task
-
🚽 Worst Job Decision Staying so long in my old job after loosing motivation. When you loose motivation, look for something different! Getting up in the morning with excitement cannot be replaced, not by a great team, not by a great salary.
-
🚀 Best Habit Going on long walks with @lizmhermann. Fresh air. Quality time with my wife. And we talk about everything we learned from podcasts, books and our business.
-
🚽 Worst Habit Biting nails. It gets worse when I'm nervous. I was nervous a lot this year, unfortunately.
-
🚀 Best Advice Be jealous of your time! Just saying NO if it's not something that fills my energy tank is the best advice I followed in 2021. It made me happier.
-
🚽 Worst Advice One I constantly give myself: “Once I'm able to do X I'm gonna be happier.” Under no circumstances expect your happiness only in the future. It becomes a habit. A human life is to short for that.

Thread inspired by @ShaanVP. Started a business, changed jobs, my wife and I are enjoyed our lives so much more than in 2020. Looking forward to 2022
